There’s something truly special about intimate wedding. Those moments when two people commit their lives to each other in the most personal way. Recently, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful Justice of the Peace wedding in Gonzales, Louisiana.

Held at the office of Christie Mayeux, 2nd Justice Court, the ceremony was short, sweet, and full of love. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by a few close loved ones, proving that the most meaningful commitments don’t always need elaborate setting, just genuine love and intention.

Why I Love Intimate Weddings

As a photographer, I’m always moved by the authenticity of these smaller celebrations. There’s room to breathe, to slow down, to feel. No timelines. No pressure. Just love and the freedom to capture it as it unfolds.

After the "I Do"

Following the ceremony, we stepped away to a nearby park in Gonzales to create timeless portraits. The golden Louisiana light filtered softly through the trees, making it the perfect backdrop for capturing the quiet joy and emotional stillness that comes after saying “I do.”

From gentle forehead touches to joyful laughs, the couple's connection came alive in front of the lens. These images weren’t just portraits, they were keepsakes. Heirlooms for their future. Moments their families will cherish for generations
